<image:title>Home - Nurturing YOUR CHILD’S MIND, BODY & Spirit</image:title>
<image:caption>Little Heartprints Academy is a Reggio Emilia–inspired early learning community where children are recognized as capable, curious, and full of potential. We believe that learning happens through relationships, exploration, and meaningful experiences, and we design our environment to nurture creativity, inquiry, and a deep sense of belonging. Moreover, we thoughtfully incorporate selected elements from Montessori and Flight Curriculum Framework to enrich our educational program. In the early years, children begin to shape their identity and understanding of the world, and we are committed to supporting their confidence, voice, and natural sense of wonder. Our educators listen closely to children’s ideas and create opportunities for them to explore, express, and construct knowledge together. We strive to cultivate a space where each child feels seen, valued, and inspired to engage deeply with their learning. At Little Heartprints Academy, we are not only caring for children—we are building the foundation for lifelong curiosity and meaningful learning.</image:caption>

<image:title>Curriculum - REGGIO INSPIRED</image:title>
<image:caption>At Little Heartprints Academy, our curriculum is inspired by the creative and inquiry-based principles of the Reggio Emilia Approach, where learning emerges through wonder, projects, democratic practice, and meaningful relationships. Children explore ideas and concepts deeply in stimulating environments and ateliers, combining emergent questions with intentional experiences that connect to the real world. We complement this with Montessori-inspired materials and activities that support fine motor skills, concentration, practical life, early numeracy, and literacy, providing concrete, hands-on experiences that build independence and confidence. In addition, the Flight Curriculum Framework guides our approach to play-based learning, encouraging children to pursue their own interests indoors and outdoors, develop strong identities, negotiate, problem-solve, and engage socially within emergent, self-motivated experiences. Together, these approaches create a rich, dynamic environment where children are empowered to explore, express, and grow as capable, curious, and lifelong learners.</image:caption>

<image:title>Nutrition & Wellness - Nourishing their bodies</image:title>
<image:caption>We keep it simple here at Little Heartprints Academy… eating more whole foods and less processed foods. We have an in-house chef that will prepare fresh meals daily, which will include a morning breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. If your child has any dietary restrictions or allergies, we will offer alternative options. We will offer a variety of flavour profiles and foods from different cultures to expand your child’s palette. In the spring, the students help to start up our special “Heart Garden”, which will include a variety of different vegetables and fruits and will change year to year. We believe that mealtime is more than just eating—it’s an opportunity for children to be actively involved. At our centre, children are encouraged to participate in age-appropriate food preparation, such as peeling, slicing, and assembling ingredients. They also take part in setting the table and helping with clean-up. By engaging in these everyday tasks, children learn important life skills, including responsibility, cooperation, and the joy of contributing to a community—foundational lessons that help them grow into caring, independent individuals.</image:caption>

<image:title>Nutrition & Wellness - Physical activity</image:title>
<image:caption>Learning is based on movement in the first years of life. Daily physical activity is so important in living a healthy lifestyle and is a natural inclination for kids to need and want to move their bodies. At Little Heartprints Academy, the children will partake in daily physical activity indoors and outdoors (weather permitting for a minimum of 30 mins). Indoor physical activity will be implemented throughout the day with activities such as dancing, hula hoops, bean bags, yoga, mini trampolines, setting up obstacle courses and balloon play to name a few. These activities will focus on developing their fine and gross motor skills.</image:caption>

<image:title>Communication & Community Involvement</image:title>
<image:caption>At Little Heartprints Academy, we believe that strong partnerships with families are at the heart of meaningful early learning. Our director is deeply committed to getting to know each child and family personally, fostering trust, collaboration, and open dialogue to ensure every child is supported in their unique learning journey. Daily Communication via Lillio App: Families stay connected to their child’s day-to-day experiences through the Lillio App. This platform provides updates, photos, and notes that capture children’s activities, discoveries, and milestones, keeping parents informed and engaged in real time. In addition to daily updates, the app highlights some of the most significant moments of exploration and inquiry, giving families insight into the rich, emergent learning that happens in our classrooms every day. Annual Exhibition & Pedagogical Documentation: Each year, families are invited to our exhibition, a living documentation of children’s projects, investigations, and achievements. These exhibitions do more than celebrate milestones—they provide a window into the children’s thinking, creativity, and capabilities, fostering meaningful conversations and collaboration between educators, children, and families. Through these channels, we ensure that families are active partners in their children’s education, experiencing firsthand the wonder, growth, and potential of each child in our care.</image:caption>

<image:title>19 months - 3 year program - Toddler Program (Ages 19 months – 3 years)</image:title>
<image:caption>Our toddler program recognizes this stage as a powerful time of discovery, relationships, and meaning-making. Grounded in the Reggio Emilia Approach, we view toddlers as capable learners who explore the world through their senses, movement, and interactions with others. Educators carefully observe and listen to children’s ideas, using these as the foundation for emerging projects and early forms of research. Our environments are thoughtfully designed as a “third teacher,” offering open-ended materials, natural elements, and invitations that encourage exploration, expression, and growing independence. Toddlers participate in atelier experiences where they engage with a variety of materials to represent their thinking, alongside daily opportunities for practical life that support autonomy and a sense of contribution. The day follows a gentle and predictable rhythm that supports security and well-being, including rest time after lunch in a calm and comforting space. Above all, we create a nurturing community where children feel seen, heard, and valued, and where their curiosity is supported as the foundation for lifelong learning.</image:caption>

<image:title>3 year-4.5 year program - Preschool Program 3 years-5 years old</image:title>
<image:caption>At Little Heartprints Academy, our full-day preschool program is grounded in the Reggio Emilia Approach, where children are active participants in their learning and capable of constructing knowledge through relationships, inquiry, and experience. During these years, children’s ideas, questions, and theories become more complex, and we build our curriculum through collaborative inquiry. Educators listen closely to children and co-construct projects that emerge from their interests, creating a democratic learning environment where every voice is valued. Through this process, children engage in meaningful research, problem-solving, and dialogue with peers and educators. Our ateliers and studio experiences offer children many opportunities to explore the “hundred languages” of expression allowing them to represent their thinking in diverse and creative ways. Rather than teaching skills in isolation, we nurture the development of early literacy and numeracy through everyday experiences, conversations, and project work. Children encounter reading, writing, and mathematical thinking naturally as they make meaning, test ideas, and engage with materials in purposeful ways. During the Montessori time, children are also invited to work with thoughtfully prepared hands-on materials that support practical life, early mathematics, literacy, and scientific exploration, fostering attention, concentration, and opportunities for independent practice within a rich, collaborative learning environment.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Developing a child’s literacy skills starts as early as when a baby is born through interactions with others and reading aloud. “Reading with babies and toddlers accelerates the development of trust, empathy, early language, attention span, self-regulation and happy healthy routines” - Gurdon, Meghan Cox; (2019). The Enchanted Hour At Little Heartprints Academy we take a special focus on developing early literacy skills through, daily music and rhyme time, whole group story time and one-on-one reading daily, sensory play and hands on activities that will introduce your child to letters and words in a fun and interactive way. There’s an abundant amount of amazing children’s book authors so each month we will focus on an author. This will expose your child to the variety of different ways story books are written and told and will further aid in vocabulary development and storytelling.</image:caption>
