Preschool Program
3 years-5 years old
At Little Heartprints Academy, our full-day preschool program is grounded in the Reggio Emilia Approach, where children are active participants in their learning and capable of constructing knowledge through relationships, inquiry, and experience.
During these years, children’s ideas, questions, and theories become more complex, and we build our curriculum through collaborative inquiry. Educators listen closely to children and co-construct projects that emerge from their interests, creating a democratic learning environment where every voice is valued. Through this process, children engage in meaningful research, problem-solving, and dialogue with peers and educators.
Our ateliers and studio experiences offer children many opportunities to explore the “hundred languages” of expression allowing them to represent their thinking in diverse and creative ways.
Rather than teaching skills in isolation, we nurture the development of early literacy and numeracy through everyday experiences, conversations, and project work. Children encounter reading, writing, and mathematical thinking naturally as they make meaning, test ideas, and engage with materials in purposeful ways. During the Montessori time, children are also invited to work with thoughtfully prepared hands-on materials that support practical life, early mathematics, literacy, and scientific exploration, fostering attention, concentration, and opportunities for independent practice within a rich, collaborative learning environment.
