NUTRITION & Wellness

Nourishing their bodies

We keep it simple here at Little Heartprints Academy… eating more whole foods and less processed foods. Fruits and vegetables that are categorized as the “Dirty Dozen” (absorb the most pesticides), will be avoided and will be purchased Organic.

We have an in-house chef that will prepare fresh meals daily, which will include a morning breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. If your child has any dietary restrictions or allergies, we will offer alternative options.

We will offer a variety of flavour profiles and foods from different cultures to expand your child’s palette.

In the spring, we will be starting up our special “Heart Garden”, which will include kale, spinach, zucchini, lettuce, snow peas and apples.

Children at the centre will partake in setting the table and cleaning up after themselves. We believe teaching these fundamental skills of being part of a family and taking care of each other are important life skills.

Physical activity

Learning is based on movement in the first years of life.

Daily physical activity is so important in living a healthy lifestyle and is a natural inclination for kids to need and want to move their bodies. At Little Heartprints Academy, the children will partake in daily physical activity indoors and outdoors (weather permitting for a minimum of 30 mins). Indoor physical activity will be implemented throughout the day with activities such as dancing, hula hoops, bean bags, yoga, mini trampolines, setting up obstacle courses and balloon play to name a few. These activities will focus on developing their fine and gross motor skills.
